Additional fees may apply if your location is outside of Calgary. For our clients, we always provide in-home consultation and up-front pricing to avoid surprises and mistakes.

In terms of floor sheen, what options do I have?

You may choose from different sheens: matte, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss. The lowest sheen or shine is the matte. How do I maintain my wood floors after refinishing?

Keeping your wood floors in good condition after refinishing is essential to preserving their beauty and longevity. These are a few helpful tips for care after refinishing:

Wait for Full Cure: After refinishing, allow sufficient time for the finish to fully cure before placing furniture or rugs and resuming regular activities. Usually, it takes 3 to 7 days.

Furniture Protective Pads: Use felt or rubber pads on legs when moving or placing furniture on the floor.

Regular Cleaning: Clean your wood floors regularly using a soft, dry or slightly damp mop. Avoid excess water, as prolonged exposure to moisture can damage the wood. We recommend professional hardwood floor cleaning every 12 months.

Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Avoid harsh chemicals or DIY cleaners that may strip off the finish or damage the wood over time. Avoid using floor polishes, enhancers and oils on wood floors.

Place Mats and Rugs: Protect wood floor with area rugs and mats, especially in high-traffic areas and entryways.

Trim Pet Nails: Trim pet nails to prevent scratches and dents on wood floor surfaces.
